If you are still wondering why there are so many civilian deaths, here is an Associated Press photo of a Palestinian 'militant' using civilians (including children) as a shield. Of course the Description does not actually say it, but you can see it for yourself.
UPDATE:
This retransmission of the photo is not cropped, and shows even more children. The commentary seems to suggest that they are not in the line of fire. I don't see that at all.
This Reuters photograph shows blatant evidence of manipulation. Notice the repeating patterns in the smoke; this is almost certainly caused by using the Photoshop “clone” tool to add more smoke to the image.
And on top of that they only show a portion of the doctored photo, excluding the repeating patterns of smoke. They didn't even mention the repeating patterns of smoke in their article.
Is this just an honest mistake or is the BBC deliberately attempting to play down this scandal?
