Armed man in British Embassy compound in Tel Aviv. An armed man has forced his way into the parking lot of the British Embassy's compound in Tel Aviv, said Israeli police. An armed man demanding asylum has forced his way into the British Embassy's compound in Tel Aviv and is threatening to kill himself, said Israeli police. The man has a handgun, said the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. Witnesses said the man jumped over the fence surrounding the compound and entered a car park around 2:45 p.m. local time. There are no hostages and no shots have been fired. All embassy employees are out of the building. Israeli police are on the scene, but have not made contact with the man.
