160Mbps downloads move closer for US cable customers. Two recent announcements show that DOCSIS 3.0 is finally poised to impact the US cable market. With download speeds of up to 160Mbps, DOCSIS 3.0 provides a significant bump up from current speeds. [Digg / Technology] Comcast CEO Shows Off Superfast Modem. Slashdot - Comcast CEO dazzled cable industry audience by showcasing a super quick modem, using a technology called DOCSIS 3.0. It was developed by the cable industry's research arm, Cable Television Laboratories. It bonds together four cable (channels) but is capable of allowing much more capacity enabling a data download speed of 150 megabits per second, or roughly 25 times faster than today's standard cable modems. 'The new cable technology is crucial because the industry is competing with a speedy new offering called FiOS, a TV and Internet service that Verizon Communications Inc. is selling over a new fiber-optic network. The top speed currently available through FiOS is 50 megabits per second, but the network already is capable of providing 100 mbps, and the fiber lines offer nearly unlimited potential.' 10:08:48 AM

If you haven't already seen the video of the Hamas Mickey Mouse preaching genocide you really should. First of all, I don't think it is funny that the CBC thinks this is a Diversion , and an Oddity. But a background I found on the author of the CBC quoted AP article Diaa Hadid is very telling. She explains that she has such personal animosity for Israelis that she can't even look at them: The intensity of Hadid's involvement over the last nine months has had a strong impact on her views. When she first arrived in the  iddle East, Hadid expressed a desire to make more Israeli friends. Now she has trouble separating the personal from the political. "I can't look at Israelis anymore. I can't separate your average Israeli citizen from the occupation, I don't want to be friends with them, I don't want to talk to them," says Hadid.
