The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) New England Pro
Chapter has a terrific new website where webloggers as well as
journalists can find a regional events calendar, a fine collection
of reporting tools, media listings and other links, as well as a
gateway to the national SPJ.org site, college student chapters and more.
Maria Trombly, the
chapter's new president, recently rebuilt the site, which previously
was just a launchpad for the group's e-mail list with a link to my
mountain of bookmarks primarily for Masssachusetts reporters.
(It's still there, but in great need of an update.)
Besides
being a Web wizard, Maria's a freelance business and technology writer
and columnist based in Western Massachusetts, and she has done great work with the International Journalism Committee of SPJ.
Web-sharing bonus: Her new NESPJ.org pages include "Steal This Site" templates and instructions to help other SPJ chapters (or organizations) build similar resources.
