I'll get around to reading these more thoroughly as soon as I can, but not today... At first glance,
the headline on the Online Journalism Review story seems a bit strong; it's about the Times moving toward what a staff memo
calls "much more side-by-side cooperation" between its online staff and
its paper-oriented staff. I think that's a good thing, but I'll wait to
see whether there's any explosion involved. (Dave is underwhelmed by the news, or maybe it's just the overstatement of that headline... but I'm glad he pointed to it.)
From OJR: NY Times explodes wall between print, Web
From NPR: Citizen Journalism on Al Gore's Current Network
(Missed this one on the radio, and haven't found a pizza place yet
that's switched its wall-mounted TV from CNN and ESPN to Current.tv...
Maybe the real key to starting a new network is to have your own pizza
chain? At least friends like j tell me what's on the radio.)
From WPLN: Nashville NPR Podcast
(I think this is the first NPR podcast in the state, although Tennessee
stations carry syndicated NPR programs that have their own podcasts.)
Storytelling: Elizabeth Rose's Storycast
(Elizabeth started this last month with a traditional "Jack Tale" and a
Steven Vincent Benet poem... a nice change of pace from all this new
media breaking news.)
