Listening
oh, good, i just found one of the documentaries i really enjoyed from the radio conference. it's a very intimate journey into the world of 17 year-old janisse, who is trying to get her father to kick his heroin habit.

there are lots of really great radio folks out there. another one is joe richmond, who puts the microphone and recorder directly into the hands of his subjects, teenagers and people in prison, and others. I played Josh's story, a teenager with Tourette's syndrome for a radio documentary class I'm teaching.

Ah, and then there's david isay. tres amazing. perhaps i should put together a list of links someday...

Radio Documentary Conference
I'm going to the Third Coast Festival in a month. I had a good time last year, heard some amazing radio documentaries (wish they were still up on their site!). Hung out with the Kitchen Sisters, Ira Glass and others. It's a must site for listening to documentaries on-line.
