Putney Swope the funniest movie i've seen in awhile. is it possible to laugh deep inside your chest? over the top! creative and absurd, it's so politically incorrect, a la south park, except that it was made in 1969. putney, the token black at an ad agency is elected to be the head because "everyone thought no-one else would possibly vote for you." and he proceeds to fire everyone and his new all-black company makes the most outrageous ads (one features an inter-racial couple singing to each other about pimples and face creams). i haven't finished watching it yet, so don't tell me how it ends. 11:45:23 PM comment []  |

It's all in how you start I was just on a panel of judges for a community radio contest. Heard parts of over 70 radio pieces. After awhile, if a piece didn't grab me right away, that was it. Just a good reminder to me how important a good beginning is, has to make me thirst, wonder or surprise me. it doesn't matter how good the middle is if the the dial's already been turned.. 11:27:06 PM comment [] |
