Martin Luther King, Jr.'s anti-vietnam war stance
Today we have a saccharine version of MLK, hearing only certain speeches. But in his day, he was highly criticized for speaking out against a war--he said the war against the poor was being taken out on the battlefields in Vietnam--with African-Americans put on the front-line. The radio program, Making Contact (where I work), put out an excellent show on Martin Luther King, Jr.'s stance against the Vietnam war.
