Departing from fiery Islamic slogans, Iraqi guerrillas have launched a propaganda campaign with an English-language video urging U.S. troops to lay down their weapons and seek refuge in mosques and homes.
The video, narrated in fluent English by what sounded like an Iraqi educated in the United States or Britain, also mocked the U.S. president's challenge to rebels in the early days of the insurgency to 'bring it on'.
"George W. Bush; you have asked us to 'bring it on'. And so help me, (we will) like you never expected. Do you have another challenge?," asked the narrator before the video showed explosions around a U.S. military Humvee vehicle.

A masked guerrilla from an unknown group called the Islamic Jihad Army, eschewing past impassioned Arabic-language threats of holy war, told U.S. soldiers: "This is not your war, nor are you fighting for a true cause in Iraq."
"To the American soldiers we say you can also choose to fight tyranny with us. Lay down your weapons and seek refuge in our mosques, churches and homes. We will protect you," he said.

"We have not crossed the oceans and seas to occupy Britain or the U.S. nor are we responsible for 9/11. These are only a few of these lies that these criminals present to cover their true plans," said the narrator, apparently referring to the Bush administration's assertion of a link between Saddam Hussein and those attacks.
A masked speaker with a machine gun beside him delivered his message to triumphant music with the ring of U.S. military propaganda films during World War Two.
He said the enemy was on the run as the video showed guerrillas firing on U.S. convoys, standing beside the corpse of an American soldier, or loading a large shell for an attack.
Cue Pentagon and White House spokespeople talking about how the video is proof the insurgents are "desperate". I doubt if it will get any Americans to defect but when it comes to convincing third parties - Europe, China, Middle East, etc. it is far more effective in getting them to take the Iraqi's side than beheading people.
wow - our "enemy" understands us --better than we have attempted to understand our "stated enemy." And they are speaking more truths (re: Saddam not a 9/11 guy, reasons for war, etc...) than our own government. Scary times.
I don't mean to malign or disrespect anyone harmed by our country's Vietnam conflict, but our experience with the "Bush Wars" in Iraq are going to stand on their own in the annals of history.
Think of the real linkages from the Bush clan. They gave us Osama and aided, by their actions, his "portfolio" with the jihad movement.
If we had another 9/11 tomorrow, do you think the world would respond again with sympathy? I'm wondering how many countries would simply say, "they asked for it."
U.S. inspectors have ended their search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq in recent weeks, a U.S. intelligence official told CNN.
The search ended almost two years after President Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq, citing concerns that Saddam Hussein was building weapons of mass destruction and may have hidden weapons stockpiles.
Members of the Iraq Survey Group were continuing to examine hundreds of documents and would investigate any new leads, the official said.
Charles A. Duelfer, who headed the Iraq Survey Group's search for WMD in Iraq, has returned to Iraq and is working on his final report, the official said.
In October, Duelfer released a preliminary report finding that in March 2003 -- the United States invaded Iraq on March 19 of that year -- Saddam did not have any WMD stockpiles and had not started any program to produce them.
The Iraq Survey Group report said that Iraq's WMD program was essentially destroyed in 1991 and Saddam ended the country's nuclear program after the 1991 Gulf War.
Team has been reassigned to find WMD hiding in the Social Security Trust Fund. WMD in the Trust Fund
We have a winner. Polls show that support for privatization rises from young to old in inverse to Americans support for Bush on Iraq.
All we have to do is convince Gen-X & Y that BushCo has been lying to them on Social Security, just like they lied about the war. Bush lied, your Social Security died, and it didn't have to.
America in the 21st century has become Alice's "Wonderland."
It doesn't matter how demonstrably untrue anything Bushboy says or does proves to be, what matters is what the White Rabbit Media says is true.
It doesn't matter how many dead bodies collect in Iraq and elsewhere as a result of Bushboy's depraved and misguided policies, what matters is how it is characterized and calling these massacres "a war on terror" washes away any responsibility.
The Republican party is in the hands of extremist theocrats and thugs like Tom Delay and the electorate put the Mad Hatter back in the WH.
The question is: will we ever be able to dig out of the hole they keep digging for us?
