Editor's note of 11/02 issue MSDN Magazine titled "The Future A Few Days away":
We're actually looking at one of the most interesting stretches since the general public got its hands on Windows 95 more than seven years ago. (Remember how exciting it was the first time you loaded it? All of a sudden, your desktop made sense. And unlike the Apple your neighbor had, you didn't need to reboot it once a month by pulling the power cord out for 20 seconds.)

Furthermore to what I said below, I believe the next Killer App probably won't really be invented by somebody. It would be more of an evolutionary process. Remember Java was invented for use in embedded devices and started getting attention as a technology for applets. Today, things are changing so rapidly around you, that you have to watch careful to even recognize what the driving innovation behind the next killer app is.
