When you abandon a family dog... your child will never forget it... When our dog visits his friends at a senior day care center, the conversation usually revolves around the clients' memories of their own dogs. It never ceases to amaze me: even eighty-year-old clients remember clearly and indelibly what happened to their beloved childhood pets. These memories, when tragic, stay fixed by emotion and disbelief. Children don't forget... if only parents knew this, maybe they wouldn't get rid of Fluffy so readily.

Dog mutilation case baffles police Reward offered ... KY In a mailbox harrassment case, more questions than answers turn up as police investigate. 'Parts left in mailbox weren’t from woman’s dead dog...'  Police know that the animal testicles and scrotum were from a male animal, so the victim's female dog couldn't have been used for the mutilation. They  don't know what kind of animal was used or even if the woman who found the parts was the intended victim of the harrassment. She shared the mailbox with three other coworkers... The woman is even more mystified: her recently deceased female Pyranees was mutilated and it appeared intentional, not accidental... [Daily News]

On December 17, Dog News reported: Dog multilated: parts placed in woman's workplace mailbox 'A Simpson County woman was just beginning to deal with what she thought was the Dec. 6 death of her pet Great Pyrenees in U.S. 31-W traffic when part of the dog’s genitalia was found in a cigar box Friday in the mailbox where she works...
