Our dog, Dao, visits as a Pets on Wheels dog, to a medical day care center for adults. Montgomery County, Maryland, Pets on Wheels did not receive enough donations to match last year's efforts. Pets on Wheels has only $14,400 to work with this year, as opposed to last year's $20,000. That means fewer volunteers trained, fewer hospitals visited by the coordinator, and sadly, fewer qualified dogs able to visit hospitals, assisted day care centers, and nursing homes. If it were not for Pets on Wheels, many day care residents would never receive visits from pets. Pets on Wheels is strictly volunteer and depends on donations to keep it going.
You can help. Your donation will go directly to training and placing therapy pets to visiting the people who need this kind of cheering up. Thank you in advance. Pets on Wheels is non-profit and your donation is tax deductible. Corporate sponsorship is encouraged and has many benefits... (especially the happiness you create for people who most need it... )
