I am home with the kids today while my dear wife Kate is at a class for The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This is a Montessori approach to religious education for children. Things I like about it:
- Ecumenical: Has Catholic, Episcopal and other churches involved.
- Run by Laity
- Radical in the sense of getting at the root -the kids get the raw material of Christianity and are allowed to draw their own conclusions
- Anything would be better than the farce called CCD that I attended for 10 years.

Last night I dreamed that I was playing hide and seek with several people including Thomas Pynchon who was wearing a black hat pulled down over his face. I thought I had a great hiding place but he came in the room and found me right away. I was mad that he found me so I punched him his masked face as hard as I could then spent the rest of the dream apologizing for it. Interpretation: I am bogged down reading Gravity's Rainbow and fear that I am not up to it intellectually so I took my anger out by trying to re-arrange the egghead freak's face.
