85th Annual Sante Fe Indian Market Official Schedule Of Events. Santa Fe, NM--The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) is pleased to release the Official Schedule of Events for the 2006 Santa Fe Indian Market. Please note that construction projects in downtown Santa Fe will cause some venue changes in 2006. The Preview of Award Winning Art will now take place at the Inn and Spa at Loretto. Food vendor booths will be moved to the First National Bank parking lot, and a few artist booths on Lincoln Avenue will be relocated (remaining on Lincoln but moving farther up the block toward Federal Place). Some new booths will be on Palace Avenue near the IAIA museum building, toward Cathedral Place. Artist demonstration booths will be located in Cathedral Park.

VANESSIE RESTAURANT'S SANTA FE INDIAN MARKET/SWAIA BENEFIT August 15-17, 4:30PM - Close Vanessie of Santa Fe, 434 W. San Francisco Street, Free and open to the public. Santa Fe's premiere piano bar hosts a benefit for SWAIA in the days leading up to the Market. A percentage of all sales are donated to the organization that produces the biggest Indian Market in the world!

SNEAK PREVIEW OF AWARD-WINNING ARTWORK & SILENT AUCTION Friday, August 18, 5:30 - 7:30PM Inn and Spa at Loretto, 211 Old Santa Fe Trail, SWAIA members only, memberships are available at the door. The highly anticipated event that allows members ($250 level and above) the first opportunity to see award winning art from Best of Show to Honorable Mention for the 2006 Santa Fe Indian Market. A silent auction of fabulous donated jewelry, pottery, paintings, and other artwork adds to the excitement. Virgil Ortiz, 2006 Poster artist, will sign posters for $500 level members and up during this time, as well.

The Youth Indian Market is for talented young Native artists who wish to participate in Indian Market, but who do not have parents or relatives in Market to share a space with (the way most youth participate). Youth Fellowship recipients can also be found at this location.
