Brian Graf's software blog
Sunday, October 13, 2002

Before I go completely dark, I should clarify a couple of things:

1) The tone of the previous post was influenced a little too much by an incident where a certain software package choked and destroyed nearly two hours of my work before it could be shared with all of you.  Chris reminds us to never send an email in anger.  I think the same sentiments apply to blogging.  Lesson learned.

2) The DevCon was a great conference.  The speakers were top notch, interesting, and dynamic.  It was truly a life-changing experience for me.  Thanks again Chris, Tim and all the speakers.  Count me in for the next one.  The conference has inspired me to get moving on something that I have been procrastinating on for months.

3) I am afraid that my blog has come to define me.  When I look at the blogs that I particularly like to read, they are all written by people who aren't defined by their blogs.  I would follow thier carreers whether or not they choose to write about them.  There are quite a few of these non-bloggers that I look up to.  I want my blog to be something that I would enjoy reading if I were someone else.  Right now it's not.  I think it can be more - more gratifying, more interesting, more useful, more fun.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words of encouragement.  I hope you won't be disappointed with the result.  Most importantly, I hope that I won't be disappointed with the result any more.
