Anyone who saw Michael Moore's speech at the Academy last night pretty much thought he made an ass out of himself, whether you like Michael Moore or not. . .and it's doubly sad because Moore had no right to win the award for best documentary. . .Bowling for Columbine wasn't a documentary. . . It's amazing to me how the theatrical profession is made up of such a large proportion of leftist leaning people but Moore takes it all too far in my opinion. . .he talks about ficticious things in his speech but he says nothing (because he doesn't have the guts?) about a ficticious leader in Iraq killing very real people. . . This is my (and a great number of people more smart and wise than I) problem with the anti-war movement. . .it's really just an anti-Bush movement and they don't have anything constructive to say about what we should be doing for the Iraqs of the world. . . Moore is a hypocrite of the worst kind. . .Bowling for Columbine IS a ficticious $4 million project and yet he has the audacity to claim companionship with the other nominated documentary makers who made true documentaries. . .for all the world to see. . .some level of inconsistency is inevitable, I think, in any world-view. . .but this is over the top. . .
Even people who possibly side with Moore on politics are embarrassed. . .overall, he basically took a moment that could have been used to support the men and women who fight for our country and shit on it. . .not only is he not deserving of his Oscar, he isn't worthy of it in my opinion. . . |
