By now, surely everyone has heard about the idea the Pentagon floated recently concerning selling futures to possibly predict or at least help research terrorism in the Middle East. . .in a typical lefty type response, The Filibuster disses the idea. . .the problem with their little diatribe is that the link they use to The University of Iowa futures research, a research plan The Filibuster is ridiculing as notoriously unreliable, actually has a link to a white paper that has the following quote:
Quoting one example (the Fox election) and extrapolating that to mean the system doesn't work is pretty bad science. . .ever heard of data outliers, guys? Ummmm. . .isn't this exactly what we want the Pentagon to be doing to fight terrorism, using every possible research outlet to predict bad stuff happening? It's not like the guys up in DC said this futures market was the only thing they were going to use. . .only that it might prove useful. . .and two senators and a bunch of people from the left basically shut it down. . .so that in the future, when someone in the Pentagon has this idea for trying something new to protect us, they'll be afraid to use it. . .
Open your fucking minds people! This is a way better use of $8 million dollars than having Ashcroft collects bongs and the like under the guise of protecting us. . . |
What's worse, a boring blog or a crappy one? I actually quite enjoy boring blogs, they make me realize mine isn't nearly that bad. . .I don't link to any boring blogs typically, but today, I just wanted to feel good about myself for a minute. . .and yes, that often involves the belittlement of others. . .don't tell my mom. . . 11:26:08 PM ![]() |
It's nice to see that Mayor Miller is a vocal opponent of a new football stadium that would be at least partially financed by a tax increase. . . However, the voters of Dallas have already proven once that they are more than willing to raise hotel and car rental taxes to get an arena that no one wants to develop around. . .what's to say they won't want to do it again?
And god forbid if you bring up raising taxes to increase services or something crazy like that. . . |
