Tomorrow I'll play one of the great hippie fests left in our country.....man if you never been you'll never know. The Great Day in Elk(population 200) is an all day festival for kids, adults and everything in between. Starts at noon, ends at midnight. There are belly dancers, pole climbers(for money) jazz bands during the day, a marguerita stand (!) BBQ, arts, crafts, benevolent atrocities and much much more. Music starts at 8:00pm with Misha Hedges (son of the late great Michael) then at 9:00pm I play with two of the finest musicians on the coast- Michael Lono Bissen on drums and Johnny Bush on bass, then at 10:00pm come Frida's Circus a great local band. So for anyone who wants drive up Hiway 1 until you find Elk......take out the map....you won't regret it....over and out.
