Thoughts about Web Services Re-tooled ASP apps in RPC clothing? Bad things problems with service discovery no standard data model relatively weak parameter typing no inheritence poor documentation not friendly to non-programmers not visible at the level of today's web no standard tools for manipulating them ad hoc security Good things easy for developers to implement and modify makes it possible to expose apps to the internet not normally considered "networkable" works seamlessly with existing standards accpetable performance levels for async transactions lots of components exist for building web services apps 11:20:53 PM    comment []
