Short flight last weekend, was forecast 9Hpa North, and although there was little wind the conditions indeed were very limited. Unbelievably there was an inversion at 1200m which killed everything, although Dave stayed up an hour.
I found myself sinking in front of Sasso at -2m/s so headed off (too) low to Picutz and didn't make it. However I picked up a nice thermal over the Leggiuno ridge and climbed out enough to make a 2nd failed attempt to reach Sangiano. Headed back to the club, came to land and the wind switched 90deg West just as I was running out the airspeed: up, stalled left wing and whack. Biggest I had since starting flying again, pretty much no control and just let the glider go in. Surprisingly no damage...
About time I got a decent flight in. Conditions are very frustrating recently, with always something being a bit tricky, cold, landing complications, etc. This period up to end May can be very frustrating, however, I recall. Stay cool.
