Fun

Reasonable conditions forecast, 5HPa from north but in the end the inversion was quite strong. Took off at 2.45 but that was OK, quite fast up to Nudo and across to Colonna. Then almost to San Martino but I was a bit low. Go lowish across to Nudo, but half way I get the thermal above Arcumegia and drift back to Colonna, where I try again and fail. So back Nudo, low, nothing, leave Brusciatta at 750 and not until I get to the greenhouses anything - then I climb out 1000m in one go...

1700m and I leave for Cardana. Despite some heavy sink, I arrive high (1200m) and then straight above the house hit +2, climb to 1400m and then go SE to Craig's house. Head back to Sasso and then climb out to 1300m, off to Nudo again. Climb out over Nudo TO finally through the inversion and over 1800m: head for Colonna again. Arrive there about 1550m and continue for San Martino, this time I make it but I'm only at 1350 when I head back. It gets really rough down near the ridge, but I head back from Colonna under the summit, get a +1.5 and out to 1200m. Across the front of Nudo, buzz the TO, climb some more and then over to Sasso again. Leave there at 1400m, across to Cerro, over the port on the lake, back to the Club, spiral under Craig and land, into light Easterly, good landing but I was a bit nervous about the flair - although it worked out fine. Nice flight. Great glider.
