the difference in attitudes towards dress styles and clothing in general is very noticeable between europe and the US. you see a lot more "chic" clothes in the workplace - for both men and women - and an incredible amount of topless exposure in newspapers. i was reading the "sunday sport" daily newspaper on the plane on the way back from the UK, and half-expected to be thrown off the flight for use of illicit materials. almost every other page features a topless model and a story linking the lady to a famous sportsman or politician. enlightened or corrupt? you decide!

one of the highlights of my trip - seeing my dad's cat lucy do "the washing machine". this trick involves stretching the cat out, then using one hand to rotate the cat around its axis until it's spinning at about 3 r.p.m with its paws outstretched. the cat absolutely loves it, and it's hilarious to watch.

phew, got back from a grueling euro-trip today. note to travel agent - booking a $20 plane flight from frankfurt to london might look good at first glance, but that doesn't take into account the TWO HOUR drive to the remote airport north of frankfurt and the TWO HOUR drive back from the remote london airport of standsted.
