had yet another great time in D.C. at the end of last week. the trees were in bloom, and the people were as friendly and interesting as ever. one of my favorite bars there is called "Felix", which plays james bond movies non-stop. 12:52:59 AM    comment []

there's been some discussions about the phrase "Enterprise Service Bus" recently. i really don't like the term, because it sounds so linear and centralized. busses in computers tend to be bottlenecks, because all the traffic is passing through a single conduit. that's why i prefer something akin to "service fabric", because it allows messages and processing to be completely distributed. 12:51:26 AM    comment []

spent most of this weekend working on P2P synchronization and lookup algorithms. it's hard trying to figure out ways to make P2P architectures both simple and efficient. fortunately, a good idea came at the end of sunday which made the effort worthwhile. 12:49:27 AM    comment []
