graham glass: what's next?

well, i saw the matrix the day it came out and enjoyed it a lot. however, i must say that i thought it could have been quite a bit better. the main difference between matrix I and matrix II is that every scene in matrix I was significant to the story line. for example, the first fight scene between Neo and Morpheus made a point that Neo was not breathing real air, and that he could go beyond human constraints. ditto for the scene where he jumped off the building. in matrix II, the fights scenes didn't add anything to the plot, they were just fun and a chance to show off some super-kung-fu and special effects. i must say that many of the scenes just seemed to be too long, whether they were action scenes, speeches, or atmospheric sets such as the Zion trance-music scene. i liked the french guy's character a lot - he was fun and will hopefully return in matrix III. some of the big questions:

1. where there really "ones" before Neo, or is that a bluff?

2. is zion itself really in the matrix?

3. it's matrix revolutionS, not revolution. so perhaps the programs such as agent smith will team up with the humans and revolt against the matrix together, demonstrating that the desire for freedom is universal and worth fighting for?

4. maybe at the end of matrix III, Neo will have to make the ultimate choice - to become a free human but risk the resurgence of the matrix, or stay within the matrix (with trinity of course) and suppress its power in order to let others live in peace?
