we're doing a bunch of work on GLUE enterprise right now, which is all about building clusters of J2EE applications without the complexity of - yuch - EJB. traditional EJB servers encourage multiple applications to be hosted in a single operating system process, which seems weird to me. maybe it's because EJB application servers are so bloated? anyhow, GLUE enterprise creates one process per J2EE application, which is reasonable because a GLUE process is so small. it will be interesting to see the feedback we get on this approach!
