the city i would most like to visit is florence. my dad, a worldly traveler, says it's the most beautiful place he's been too. so far, venice is my favorite - it's like stepping into the past. and definitely an awesome place for a honeymoon.

it's been quite interesting working on the GAIA replicating UDDI subsystem. i don't really like UDDI from a design perspective, but it's a standard so there's no avoiding it. the idea is to make the implementation as powerful as possible and hide all the nasty underlying stuff so you can forget that it's UDDI. the GAIA dynamic discovery system uses in, and the resulting APIs are simpler and more powerful than JINI. plus platform neutral. doesn't get any better than that!

spent most of this week travelling, meeting customers and demoing the GAIA Web Services Fabric. so far, the response has been excellent. i'm looking forward to seeing charlies angels soon, as well as T3. i spend a lot of time dreaming about taking a vacation, but that is on hold until we release GAIA 1.0. then i'd like to lie on a beach and sleep for a week.
