looked at WS-Discovery recently; looks pretty useful for lightweight detection of web services, especially for locating a UDDI registry during startup. this is a good validation of the feature that our Fabric product already has. one cool demo allows a network of wireless PDAs to spontaneously form a web services grid.

going to see this robot-themed movie this week: http://www.robotstories.net/. it looks fascinating. robotics is going to have a huge impact on humanity, and the undercurrent is only just beginning to build. i bet it must have felt the same reading about spaceflight in the 1920s, recognizing that it is inevitable, but not knowing exactly how it would truly begin.

got back from my korea/japan trip on saturday; great fun! the integration world conference had around 1,600 attendees, which was a good turnout. i'm now addicted to karaoke, with beatles songs being my favorite. the toughest song to sing has got to be "bohemian rhapsody", by queen. freddy mercury has an amazing vocal range, which leads to hilarious moments during a karaoke rendition.
