This hasn't been the best of times
for corporate social responsibility (CSR), and I was thinking that even
before those new Enron tapes came out.

So now you know, if you didn't already, that the 'box office records' routinely reported to be broken are all dollar records, and that actual attendance and popularity of films, by any measure, are in a long-term and steep decline.
OTOH, there's the economy-of-scale busting capability of networks and the long tail
to consider. But exploiting that opportunity demands the agility that
is typically hard to evoke and sustain in large bureaucracies.
