Larry Bain of Acme Chop House, speaking tonight at Cafe de la Paz at the Sustainable Business Alliance monthly forum (this one on TRADITIONAL BUSINESSES, UNTRADITIONAL BUSINESS MODELS):

[Mathemagenic], quoting Robert Paterson (who, bless his heart, quotes Melville): The  paradox is that in a turbulent time, the greatest risk is in hanging onto what seems safe. The greatest safety -- to reach into the unknown. This is surely not only true for each of us as individuals but also for organizations.

This is but one important aspect of the profound challenges we face at every level -- in making decisions in the face of uncertainty. More on this to come.
