The University of Helsinki Library is also the National Library of Finland and occupies a very prominent place in Helsinki - in the square across from the Senaatintori and the Tuomiokirkorr (Lutheran (Finnish) Cathedral). This is one of the most beautiful libraries I've ever visited - that is, I liked it better (definitely more user-friendly) than the Library of Congress or the British Library (which is also very accessible unlike LC), both of which are also beautiful and impressive! The current exhibition on Women of Learning is also very impressive. I am not at all surprised to learn that Finland is currently ranked #1 in the world for it's basic school education and has the lowest dropout rates.
