Great Speeches
While with Brad De Long's always-invigorating weblog, he has two pointers today to great speeches made in 1963. Today is Martin Luther King Day, and he has full text of the I Have A Dream speech, as well as John F Kennedy's address at the Berlin Wall, later in that year.
While Kennedy's wishes and predictions have come true (and woudn't it be nice too to have the text of Ronald Reagan urging Mikhail Gorbachev in 1989 to "tear down this wall"?), it is sad to think that the position of black Americans, despite decades of affirmative action, is not greatly improved over 40 years ago.
