UPDATE: Ted Williams Litigation
MIAMI -- Reuters reports the court battle waged by a daughter of Boston Red Sox legend Ted Williams to remove her father's body from a cryonic freezing process begun by other family members may collapse because she is struggling to pay legal fees, her lawyer said on Wednesday.
Barbara "Bobby-Jo" Williams Ferrell, Williams' eldest daughter, has spent about $50,000 over the last four months to dispute her half-siblings' stance that their father wanted to be frozen, rather than cremated as stated in his will, her lawyer John Heer said.
Ferrell will need roughly another $50,000 to continue with the case, he added. But despite Ferrell's efforts to raise funds for the highly publicized case, she has only collected $2,500 to date.
