In order to complete the switchover by Dec. 17, the following lane restrictions will be in place:
- Dec. 10: NB I-15 will be restricted to one lane between 11800 South and 12600 South from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
- Dec. 16: SB I-15 will be restricted to one lane between 11800 South and 12600 South from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
The traffic shift will allow crews to begin demolishing and rebuilding the southbound half of the 12300 S. interchange. For the past ten months all motorists have been traveling in the southbound lanes while the northbound half of the interchange was constructed.
Three lanes of travel will be maintained in each direction; however, lane widths will be reduced and shoulder restrictions and reduced speed limits will remain in place for the next several months.
UDOT advises motorists to reduce speeds and use caution when driving through work zones. Work schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather, equipment problems or emergency situations.

The Utah Water Quality Board is considering adopting a new rule, R317-401, Graywater Systems.
The State is in the fifth year of drought. Since late last year, there have been numerous inquiries about allowing graywater for landscape irrigation. The proposed rule allows the use of graywater originating from laundries, showers, tubs and lavatories for subsurface irrigation only. The rule does require a back-up provision of connecting to a sewer or an onsite system. A Level 3 designer with operations and maintenance instructions with information on groundwater table and soils will design the system. The local health department may require a more stringent design than the one proposed in the rule. The rule provides for the services of a contract service provider for operation and maintenance at the option of local health departments. Local health departments may also require renewable operating permits. The local health departments must present to the Water Quality Board adequacy of resources and technical capability, and support from county commissioners, board of health and county attorney, as a prerequisite to delegating approval authority.
Public hearings are scheduled to receive public input prior to adoption by the Board. Two public hearings will be held at times and places shown below:
- December 9, 2003 at 7 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Southwest Utah Public Health Department, 168 North 100 East, St. George, Utah.
- December 10, 2003, at 3 p.m. in Room 201, Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Building No. 2, 168 North 1950 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
