Salt Lake City – One of the most sought after and highly prized annual calendars is now available. The 2005 Utah! Scenic Calendar, this year featuring the state’s Scenic Byways, is printed and available at Council Hall, across from the state Capitol Building, or at local bookstores and gift shops around the state.
In recent years, the Utah Scenic Calendar has featured a selected theme about the state along with the main feature of stunning scenic photography. The 2005 edition, the Utah Travel Council’s 33rd year, has a small map and a brief description of 16 of the state’s 26 Scenic Byways. Six of Utah Scenic Byways have national status and are included in the calendar – Highway 12 is Utah’s only "All American Road" and is one of the most spectacular drives in the country. Utah’s other "National Scenic Byways" are Logan Canyon, Flaming Gorge, Nebo Loop and Huntington/Eccles Canyons.
Calendars may be purchased from the Zion Natural History Association bookstore and visitor center at Council Hall, 300 North State Street, for $11.26 each plus tax. Quantities of 50 or more may be purchased directly from the Utah Travel Council at the wholesale rate of $6.75 plus tax. Envelopes are also available for .20 each. To purchase calendars, call (801) 538-1900 or order online at http://dced.gov/travel/publications.html
