It is nice to see the U.S. Postal service recognize more than just musicians, past presidents, and other celebrities with the introduction stamps featuring designer Isamu Noguchi. Design Within Reach's Aug. 11 newsletter had a nice article about the matter.
"...historically, designers have received relatively little philatelic acknowledgment until the last 30 years. A survey of the history of postal stamps indicates that cute doggies, horses, birds and other creatures fare a lot better than designers, as do national parks."
