Dang it. Marc is right on again.  I don't know how much Flickr is going to cost, but I've decided that I'm on board and ready to pony up some cold hard cash.

They've just "got it going on."

Top 10 Reasons why Stewart Butterfield and the Flickr team are God.

"10. Stewart is so sweet and such a nice guy, who could not love him?

9. Ludicorp's previous project - was a game.

8. Flickr's IM system (Flickr Live!) allows images to be dragged into the conversation. That alone justifies a post! It rocks!

7. Flickr makes your images available in a series of sizes, allowing you to choose which size to use - where. That's really essential. Flickr also handles the typical squashing and stretching and/or cropping of images - correctly.

6. How To Get The Most Out of Flickr also rocks. It's so pleasurable to find people who know how to explain how to use their software!

5. Stewart is on the scene - so is Caterina sometimes too. They put a face on their software. This is also key. Stewart supported Greg Elin's Fotonotes idea - 'cause it rocked. Stewart listens.

4. Flickr's social networking not only has two levels to each relationship, utilizes Groups and supports FOAF, but it's internal messaging system, it's private IM and who knows - maybe even some coolio IRC channels - can all connect together and form a comprehensive managed conversation environment. :-) Maybe eventually. Please!

3. Organizr - in general - and the spirit of even thinking it up in the first place. Bless you.

2. Flickr for making it's APIs available in REST, XML-RPC and SOAP.

1. Flickr's Open APIs. Thank You Jesus. Praise be to Allah. B'ruch hasheem. Om. Buddha. Nam yoho rein gen ko. Now we can start."
