Ever wondered what happens to a Nikon CoolPix 5000 once you shoot image DSCN9999.JPG? That happened to me recently, and I expected they were preserving DOS 3.1 compatitility in the file name and would wrap back to zero. That is the case. So how do you manage a set of 10,000+ images that don't have unique filenames? Adding another key makes sense, but not camera name. The date looks good.
Which reminds me--Macintouch posted a note by Shannon Calvert who put 3000 images in iPhoto and then had a problem with corrupted JPEGs. Hopefully an isolated glitch.
