It's that Y-chromosome that makes all the trouble...

roadmaps are for pussies. There's a lot of talk these days about roadmaps. Witness Bush's roadmap to Bagdahd, your eGovernment roadmap the roadmap to peace in the middle east and, yes virginia, a roadmap to the euro, as set forth by Tony Blair.

  • I must admit that I like the idea of roadmaps. A fine choice of noun for what otherwise would be called strategic plans I presume. But that sounds too "ad-agency" like. Roadmap clearly connotates that this thing has been gone over with a fine-tooth comb, and everyone who knows the area(s) agree on the final results.
    • Let's be honest, I have yet to question the accuracy of any road (or aviation) map. People trust maps. Maps are good.
  • However, I really must question the use of a roadmap. For how many "real" men do you know who admit to actually using one when en route? I certainly won't cop to it. When I'm driving I don't look at the map, I don't ask for directions. I'm a man dammit! No, I don't want to stop at that gas station and ask for directions either. Thank you all the same.
  • So I wonder, are Bush, Powell and Blair manly men, or will they wuss out and actually follow their roadmaps? They certainly know how to smoke their own dope, that's for sure.
