"I think most people live in a fiction.  I'm no exception.  Think of it in terms of a car's transmission.  It's like a transmission stands between you and the harsh realities of life.  You take the raw power from outside and use gears to adjust it so everything's all nicely in sync.  That's how you keep your fragile body intact."
-- from Sputnik Sweetheart

My friend Stephanie and I had a conversation about values and the above came to mind.  It's interesting that most of us can't even articulate our values - they just are.  Sure, we can express them in vague terms, but when it comes down to it people learn your values from observing your behavior.

Someone I know recently had a relative die.  This relative gave left an inheritance, such that if this person chose to they wouldn't have to work for a couple of years.  What would you do with an inheritance that stipulated that you couldn't work for a few years while you lived on it?

I had a conference call today to which everyone was late.  Just for the record, the current time is here.
