Cool things, for free:

An old essay from Douglas Coupland called "Hubs".
An old article for wired by Neal Stephenson.

I found out my immigration is all in order.  I was approved on September 2, 2001 but only recieved this information today.  Now on to the green card.  Of course it would have been nice to know this for the past year, especially as the clock ticks on me, but just being legal feels good.  If only I could win the green card lottery.

So tonight I was farting around with the data grid and repeater controls in ASP.NET.  The first few projects that I ported from classic ASP to ASP.NET all maintain a legacy approach towards data access - everything from passing sql statements via forms to looping result sets and displaying them.  I guess I'm going to have to unearth all that code and rewrite again. Sigh.  Iterative and incremental, I guess that's what it's all about.
