No Longer Soulmates

I fantasized a lot about Elizabeth Spiers in the worst of winter, stuck in South Dakota reading about New York and Christopher Hitchens on her website.  The dream, alas, has found its end in her most recent entry - she is a Duke basketball fan (and alum?).

The inside story is that I obsessed over basketball for a long time but being in Africa I could only watch games that had been taped and sent to the missionaries over there.  The one guy who got the most tapes was a Duke alum and I was stuck watching them over and over, ad nauseum, hating them all the while.

Curiously enough, the other team I watched a lot, Arizona, has always occupied a special part of my basketball fandome.

Poetry in Function

I sent a friend of mine the following:

I type into my computer:
f[x_] = x^3/(Sqrt[-1]);
Plot[f[x], {x,3,12}, PlotStyle->{"AspectRatio","Automatic"}
And I think to myself:
No comply inverted 540 [just like a skateboarder]
And it computes. I type:
(x==z)?((IDisposable)fot).Dispose():return null;
And I think of myself as a Dolphin
Out of the water, leaping -
