xBlog: The visual thinking weblog. Visualization is an old pet topic of mine, so I was delighted to be referred to this new weblog from the company XPLANE via my old friend George Por through his 'Blog of Collective Intelligence'. [EdTechPost]

Dave Pollard: "A couple of weeks ago, I posted, and e-mailed to about fifty Salon bloggers, a six-question survey asking Salon/Radio users for their opinions on the product, and on the business of blogging in general. I received a dozen responses." [Scripting News]

Lap to Lamp. (SOURCE:"timb")-Yet another fascinating and well written piece by Tim. His blog remains essential for those both technical and non technical who are interested in software development. I disagree about how trivial writing a weblog system is. I agree that any programmer can write a blogging system that only she or he can use but to write something like Movable Type or Radio that non technical people or even other programmers can use is a whole other kettle 'o fish. I love Emacs (and have been using it for years!) and could therefore use Tim's Emacs driven blogging system but I know lots of other programmers who detest and can't fathom Emacs and so lot of technical and almost all non technical people couldn't use his blogging system .

Writing your own Weblog software really isn't that hard; the whole thing can't have taken me even a week's programming time, in dribs and drabs, on weekends, evenings, and plane flights. More people should write their own, all those layouts driven by Moveable Type, Radio, Blogger and friends are starting to look a little tired and a lot like each other.
