Tomorrow is another installment of my favorite class, Managing Organizations. You can read the course description for details. We will be discussion Machiavelli's "The Prince", and regular readers of this journal will know that I am excited because this is one of my favorite books of all time.
In time-honored Insead fashion, however, everyone is running around reading the summary version of the book. I keep asking myself, why would you read the summary version of a 100-page book? You can read the whole thing in a couple hours, and at least you would get the flavor of what it is and why it is important. I shouldn't complain, though; those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
I'll write up a review of the discussion tomorrow.

More proof that my cousin is one damn fine writer. One of these days, Lar, you'll be famous, and I'll get to drop your name at cocktail parties, and everyone will be look at each other with one eyebrow arched, heads tilted ever so slightly, thinking to themselves, "This guy knows people..."
