Screen real estate has become more precious as more tools are utilized for development purposes.  In an effort to help alleviate this condition, I did a quick search at sourceforge and found an open source virtual desktop package.  I downloaded and installed it.  Works great.  Readily customizable.  Best of all it is free.

According to this InfoWorld article, HP now offers a Linux based d220 PC with a 2.0 GHz Celeron processor, 128 meg RAM, a 40G-byte hard drive, and a CD-ROM drive in a microtower unit 7.1 inches wide by 15.4 inches deep by 14 inches high all for the cost of $349!
