Groove Folder Sharing I read Hugh's blog entry about GFS and wanted to get your minds thinking about the myriad of interesting things you can do with it when Groove v3 comes out (soon):
- Distribution of application data for those applications that are file centric, where people work serially but need to share information. Also, better than email because uses Groove over-the-wire security and binary differencing algorithms to optimize bandwidth.
- Creation of simple workflow applications that assign work/turns by moving data from synchronized folder to synchronized folder
- Integration with PDAs that have technology to synchronize with Windows folders (e.g. PocketPC's that use ActiveSync).
- Full text searching with your technology of choice because they *ARE* real Windows folders, not some custom created entity.
