Time for a cell phone upgrade I used to have the Sony Ericsson T68i
I really loved it - it had Blue Tooth technology, a great form factor and fantastic battery life. But the reception wasn't great, the phone took an excessively long time to "boot" up and the casing/glass was scratched from a variety of dropping incidents. On a recommendation from a friend (thanks Matt), I have taken the Nokia 6200 IM for a test drive (I have 30 days).
I was drawn to it's simplicity of design, integrated speakerphone and claims of exceptional signal reception. I was also intrigued by the EDGE capabilities, but I don't know if I'll be using them or not (usage costs will largely decide for me). I like the phone so far - the best thing so far is that the speakerphone just rocks! I've had conversations where the people on the other side can't tell the difference when I switch back and forth from handset mode. One thing I don't like is the fact that the phone creaks when I press keypad buttons - I don't know if there is a problem with the casing or this is expected. I guess I'll have to go back to the store where I picked it up from and find out.
