Spent last weekend at the
Margaret Austin Center on a yoga teacher training retreat. What a beautiful, serene spot. Nothing exotic, simple accommodations. Quiet mornings with the sound of distant farm animals, the howling of coyotes and great star views at night. Mealtime, we were treated to a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes prepared by Dave,
the Soup Peddler. Great guy; terrific cook. A delicious African soup Friday night; perfect Falafel Saturday. Breakfasts of oatmeal and fruit - kiwi, banana, apples, etc. Plus simple highlights like the figs for desert served with a kind of sweet sesame seed cake. To die for. ;->
We learned about and practiced Mudra, Mantra, Banda and Pranayama -- with a little Asana mixed in. 6:00 AM both mornings we did an hour of Kundalini Yoga -- very different -- followed by an hour of Hatha. Really interesting to dig deeper into this stuff, and learn about teaching it. The more you know, the more you know how much you don't!
