I had never heard of Spoon before, but when my friend David asked if I'd be interested in checking them out live tonight at the Austin City Limits final season screening, I did not hesitate. Way cool, except that after waiting in line for an hour and a half for them to open the doors, they had already run out of beer! (They're a local band, so there were too many guests, I guess...) But Spoon was really cool, reminiscent of Camper Van Beethoven to my ear, but definitely their own sound. A very good show. Intimate -- the Convention Center only holds about 440 people, so it was pretty cozy.

Now I'm a real Austenite!
