Last night, I headed to Border's to look for a book. I wasn't sure what I was going to get but I just felt like I needed a new tech book. I couldn't believe how many Java-related books were there. It was amazing.

I ended up getting a book about JXTA.. Yes, I am getting a bit crazy..

Random Java Peeve. My random Java peeve that popped up today, about programmers rather than the language this time: The StringBuffer Myth. I can't believe this particular myth still has wide circulation, but I guess it's far easier to create a meme than it is to kill one. [The Desktop Fishbowl]

SwingML is yet another rich markup language in XML like thinlets and JellySwing. Its Swing specific, uses ugly capital letters for all elements and attribute names (yuk!) and is GPL so of no use to commercial developers. Though at least you get the source code, unlike thinlets. [James Strachan's Radio Weblog]

I think what someone needs to write is a Java app like Glade which will allow you to build your interface in a GUI and then a XML file representing it will be created for use in your code.

If you build a GTK app without using Glade, you are really missing out.
