Adobe Gets Hit by DMCA: In an ironically satisfying move, it seems that Adobe is in trouble because its Acrobat format can copies of fonts to whoever wants to read a document without violating the intellectual property rights of the font owners.  It serves them right to run afoul of this mess after how they reacted to the very reasonable actions of Dmitri Sklyarov.

Trouble For Microsoft Means Opportunity for Apple: If they're ready to exploit problems Microsoft is experiencing, a MacCentral article says (as I often have lately) that Apple could grab some more market share.  Now if we could just get the Linux, Sun, and Apple guys to play nice(r) together and offer a more unified Unix-based alternative platform with Apples great UI and polish, Linux's stability and price point, and Sun's great high-end hardware and tools.  The best way for dwarves to fight the giant is to stand on one another shoulders rather than beating one another up to see who is the toughest dwarf.
